Privacy Policy

This explains what we collect when you use adimpact.ca or hire us, why we collect it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to get it back or deleted. Plain English, no clause-hunting.

01

Who we are

Ad Impact is a Google Ads performance marketing company based in Montréal, Quebec. We run this website, adimpact.ca, and we decide what happens to the information collected through it.

Patrick Barbeau is the person in charge of protecting personal information here, as Quebec law requires. Questions, requests and complaints go to the email above and reach him directly.

02

What we collect

What you give us

When you book a call, request a free audit or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, website, and whatever you tell us about your business, including what you currently spend on ads. Bookings run through Cal.com, so you give that information to Cal.com and it comes to us.

What the website collects on its own

The site uses Google Analytics 4. It records which pages you visit, how you got here, roughly where you are (from your IP address), your device and browser, and when you visited. It uses cookies and similar identifiers to do that. We use it to see which pages work, nothing more. We do not run advertising or remarketing pixels on this site.

What we handle for clients

When we manage advertising for a client, they give us access to their Google Ads, Google Analytics, Search Console, landing pages, call tracking and sometimes their CRM. Those accounts can contain personal information about their leads and customers. We only look at it to do the work, we act on the client's instructions, and it stays theirs. When the engagement ends, we remove our access.

Billing

For paid engagements we keep your business name, billing address, what you bought and what you paid. Card payments go through Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems. We see the last four digits and whether a payment succeeded.

03

Why we use it

  • To answer you and to run the free audit you asked for.
  • To deliver the work: build campaigns, landing pages and tracking.
  • To invoice you and keep the records tax law requires.
  • To see which parts of this website are working.
  • To send you email you asked for. Every one has an unsubscribe link and we honour it.
  • To meet legal obligations or defend a legal claim.

We collect this with your consent, or because we need it to do work you asked us to do. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us, though we may not be able to continue an engagement without the information it depends on.

We do not sell your personal information, rent it, or trade it. We do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
04

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This site uses them for two things:

  • Google Analytics 4 — measures traffic and which pages get read. Google processes this data on our behalf and retains it for 14 months.
  • Cal.com — loads the booking calendar and sets its own cookies when you open it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can turn Google Analytics off everywhere with Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works fine without them.

05

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that run parts of our business, and only with what they need to do their job:

  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Gmail) — website measurement, advertising accounts, and our email.
  • Cal.com — call bookings.
  • Vercel — hosting for this website.
  • Stripe — payments and invoicing.
  • Our accountant and, if we ever need one, our lawyer, both bound by professional confidentiality.

We will also disclose information if a court order, a law, or a regulator requires it, or to protect our legal rights. If the business is ever sold or merged, client and contact records would transfer to the buyer under the same commitments.

How the sharing happens

Information moves over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), through each provider's own systems or APIs, and only for the purposes above. We do not send bulk exports of personal information to anyone, we do not post it publicly, and no provider on this list is allowed to use it for their own marketing.

06

Where it is stored

Our providers store and process data on servers outside Quebec, including in the United States and other countries. That means courts and authorities in those countries can, in some situations, require access to it under their own laws. We chose established providers that publish their security and privacy commitments, and we use standard contractual protections where they are offered.

If you would rather your information stayed in Canada, tell us before you send it and we will explain what we can and cannot do.

07

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and audits that do not become engagements: 24 months, then deleted.
  • Client records, contracts and invoices: 7 years after the engagement ends, because tax law requires it.
  • Website analytics: 14 months, Google's default.
  • Email correspondence: as long as it is useful, then deleted.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See below.

08

How we protect it

  • The whole site is served over HTTPS.
  • Two-factor authentication is on for every account that touches client data: Google, Stripe, hosting, ad accounts.
  • Passwords live in a password manager, never in documents or email.
  • Access is limited to what a job needs, and we remove access to client accounts when an engagement ends.
  • Payment card data never reaches our systems. Stripe handles it and is certified to PCI DSS Level 1.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If personal information is ever exposed, we keep a register of the incident and notify the people affected and the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec where the law requires it.

09

Your rights

Under Canadian and Quebec privacy law you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
  • Give you a copy, in a portable computerized format.
  • Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete it, or stop distributing it and de-index it.
  • Withdraw your consent, including to marketing email.
Email helloadimpact@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. It is free. We may ask you to confirm who you are first so we do not hand your information to someone else.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If you are a customer or lead of one of our clients and you want your information handled, contact that business first. The data is theirs and we act on their instructions. Tell us anyway and we will pass it along.

10

Children

This is a business-to-business service. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

11

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell active clients by email before it takes effect.
